The AAWE Refugee Task Force has re-started!  Many AAWE members have asked if we could relaunch the Refugee Task Force (RTF) in light of the ongoing war in Ukraine, which has caused millions of Ukrainians to flee their war-battered country, unleashing a humanitarian crisis. AAWE members recently led a successful donation drive for Ukraine, collecting essential items for women and children refugees. There is more that can be done, and AAWE RTF
is working towards providing information, resources, and ways for members to get involved.

Open house meetings were held late March and mid-April 2022 with the goal to continue with regularly scheduled meetings.

The AAWE Community-wide Refugee Task Force was founded in 2016 in a spirit of generosity and a desire to enrich the lives of others while also enriching our own lives.

The Task Force has provided a forum for cross-organizational connections and information-sharing, allowing resources to be quickly identified to fill the evolving needs of those arriving from distant and often dangerous places to begin new lives in our community.

Past participating associations have included AAWE, Every Child is a Gem, Compassion Without Borders, Association Pierre Claver, American Library in Paris, Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Paris, American Church in Paris, American Cathedral, and FAWCO.
